Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2002 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Furniture, Silver, Prints and Folk Art, which included the work Portrait of Sarah Morgan Walbridge by Ammi Phillips. The price achieved of USD 23,900.00 (€ 24,187.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ammi Phillips achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a Young Girl and her Cat in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,248,000.00 (€ 960,147.72).

Im Oktober 2002 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important American Furniture, Silver, Prints and Folk Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Sarah Morgan Walbridge von Ammi Phillips zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 23.900,00 (€ 24.187,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ammi Phillips erzielen.
