In January 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Furniture, Folk Art, Silver & Chinese Export, which included the work Double Portrait of Theron Simpson Ludington (1850-1922) and His Older Sister Virginia Ludington(1846-1865), circa 1852 by Ammi Phillips. The »bidding war« ended at USD 782,500.00 (€ 564,167.27), 57% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ammi Phillips; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait of a Young Girl and her Cat sold at auction in January 2007 with the realized price of USD 1,248,000.00 (€ 960,147.72).

Im Januar 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important American Furniture, Folk Art, Silver & Chinese Export durch, in der auch die Arbeit Double Portrait of Theron Simpson Ludington (1850-1922) and His Older Sister Virginia Ludington(1846-1865), circa 1852 von Ammi Phillips zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 782.500,00 (€ 564.167,27) und damit 57% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ammi Phillips; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Portrait of a Young Girl and her Cat im Januar 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 1.248.000,00 (€ 960.147,72).
