In the Important Americana auction, the work Portrait Of A Haxtun Family Member, Probably Sarah E. Haxtun (Later Mrs. Isaac Akin, 1824-1879) sold for USD 94,500.00 (€ 87,032.60) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ammi Phillips achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a Young Girl and her Cat in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,248,000.00 (€ 960,147.72).
