Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Rug Merchant by Amedeo Simonetti was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,533.98). Other works by Amedeo Simonetti have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2008 by the work In the Armory at USD 25,000.00 (€ 19,712.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Rug Merchant von Amedeo Simonetti im Januar 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.533,98) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Amedeo Simonetti wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2008 die Arbeit In the Armory mit USD 25.000,00 (€ 19.712,98).
