Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work Still Life Of Roses, Marigolds, Aquilegia, Violets, Convolvulus, Hollyhocks, Peonies, Cornflowers, Forget-Me-Nots, Jacob'S Ladders, Lily Of The Valley And Carnations In A Wan-Li Kraak Porcelain Vase With A Butterfly And A Snail On A Ledge by Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder. The price achieved of GBP 482,500.00 (€ 551,340.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blumenstrauss mit Tulpen, Schwertlilie, Gartennelke, Ringelblume, Rosmarinblätter und anderen Blüten in einem Römer mit Schmetterlingen, Spitzschnecke und Fliege. 1608. in September 2008 with an auction result of CHF 5,770

Im Juli 2013 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life Of Roses, Marigolds, Aquilegia, Violets, Convolvulus, Hollyhocks, Peonies, Cornflowers, Forget-Me-Nots, Jacob'S Ladders, Lily Of The Valley And Carnations In A Wan-Li Kraak Porcelain Vase With A Butterfly And A Snail On A Ledge von Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 482.500,00 (€ 551.340,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit [Blumenstrauss mit Tulpen, Schwertlilie, Gartennelke, Ringelblume, Rosmarinblätter und anderen Blüten in einem Römer mit Schmetterlingen, Spitzschnecke und Fliege. 1608
