The work Flowers in a Wan-li gilt-mounted vase in a niche with shells and insects by Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder was sold in the Old Masters Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in December 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,571,250.00 (€ 1,857,033.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2008 the work Blumenstrauss mit Tulpen, Schwertlilie, Gartennelke, Ringelblume, Rosmarinblätter und anderen Blüten in einem Römer mit Schmetterlingen, Spitzschnecke und Fliege. 1608. was auctioned for CHF 5,770,000.00 (€ 3,662,132.66).
