Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Weldon Collection, which included the work Still Life Of Flowers In A Wan-Li Vase, Including Tulips, Narcissi, A Sweet-Briar, Liver-Leaf, Cyclamen, Wild Pansy And A Rose, With A Dragonfly, Bumblebee And Caterpillar by Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 850,000.00 (€ 761,512.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blumenstrauss mit Tulpen, Schwertlilie, Gartennelke, Ringelblume, Rosmarinblätter und anderen Blüten in einem Römer mit Schmetterlingen, Spitzschnecke und Fliege. 1608. in September 2008 with an auction result of CHF 5,770,000.00 (€ 3,662,132.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Weldon Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life Of Flowers In A Wan-Li Vase, Including Tulips, Narcissi, A Sweet-Briar, Liver-Leaf, Cyclamen, Wild Pansy And A Rose, With A Dragonfly, Bumblebee And Caterpillar von Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 850.000,00 (€ 761.512,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
