In the First Open | Online auction, the work 1961 sold for USD 11,875.00 (€ 9,709.73) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alvaro Barrington have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Welcome in October this year with an auction result of GBP 63,000.00 (€ 72,341.50).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Alvaro Barrington erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open | Online wurde die Arbeit 1961 für USD 11.875,00 (€ 9.709,73) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alvaro Barrington auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Welcome im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 63.000,00 (€ 72.341,50).
