Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2000 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS, which included the work Before Rehearsal by Althea Mary Proctor. The price achieved of AUD 1,645.00 (€ 995.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Althea Mary Proctor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Garden Party in May 2001 with an auction result of AUD 7,637.50 (€ 4,577.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2000 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Before Rehearsal von Althea Mary Proctor zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 1.645,00 (€ 995,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Althea Mary Proctor auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Garden Party im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 7.637,50 (€ 4.577,98).
