Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cupid after his Bath by Alison Watt was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,722.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Alison Watt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sleeper; Fragment Ii in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 78,000.00 (€ 115,848.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cupid after his Bath von Alison Watt kam im Mai 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 16.800,00 (€ 24.722,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alison Watt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sleeper; Fragment Ii im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 78.000,00 (€ 115.848,01).
