Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Kensington Gardens by Algernon Newton. The price achieved of GBP 12,562.50 (€ 13,852.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Algernon Newton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Stour, near Sudbury in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 70,498.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kensington Gardens von Algernon Newton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.562,50 (€ 13.852,20) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Algernon Newton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Stour, near Sudbury im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 70.498,10).
