Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Dents De Veisivi And The Dent Perroc by Alfred Walter Williams was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 375.00 (€ 509.56). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Walter Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Children on a bank of a tranquil river, a cottage beyond in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,520.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Dents De Veisivi And The Dent Perroc von Alfred Walter Williams im Dezember 2007 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 375,00 (€ 509,56) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Walter Williams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Children on a bank of a tranquil river, a cottage beyond im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.520,20).
