The »bidding war« ended at USD 12,925.00 (€ 14,928.39), 44% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred S. Mira - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Washington Square, which sold at auction in March 2004 for USD 65,725.00 (€ 53,469.74).

Die Arbeit The El (View of Sixth Avenue and 8th Street) von Alfred S. Mira wurde im Februar 2002 in der Auktion FINE AMERICAN PAINTINGS, DRAWINGS AND SCULPTURE bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 12.925,00 (€ 14.928,39) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred S. Mira mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Washington Square beobachtet, die im März 2004 für USD 65.725,00 (€ 53.469,74) versteigert wurde.
