Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Returning from church by Alfred Rankley was sold in the British and Victorian Pictures auction at Christies in London in November 2000. The price achieved of GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,304.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Rankley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Benediction in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 58,850.00 (€ 68,265.82).

Die Arbeit Returning from church von Alfred Rankley wurde im November 2000 in der Auktion British and Victorian Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.304,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden.
