Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work Tintern, Valley of the Wye by Alfred East. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 21,281.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Alfred East have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2007 the work Amberley Bridge was auctioned for GBP 18,500.00 (€ 25,138.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tintern, Valley of the Wye von Alfred East zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 21.281,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Alfred East konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Dezember 2007 die Arbeit Amberley Bridge für GBP 18.500,00 (€ 25.138,36) versteigert.
