Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2007 Christies in London held the auction British & Continental Watercolours & Drawings, which included the work A Street Scene In Cairo by Alexandre Nicolaievich Roussoff. The price achieved of GBP 525.00 (€ 713.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexandre Nicolaievich Roussoff - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A calm day on the Venetian lagoon, which sold at auction in October 2006 for GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,972.20).
