Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, which included the work RETURN FROM THE HUNT by Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 5,040.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work French a Desert Passage in April 2017 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 35,625.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900 durch, in der auch die Arbeit RETURN FROM THE HUNT von Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 5.040,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit French a Desert Passage im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 35.625,52).
