The work Quranic school by Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps was sold in the Orientalist Art auction at Bonhams in London in June last year. It achieved a price of GBP 8,925.00 (€ 10,368.31), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 49%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French a Desert Passage, which sold at auction in April 2017 for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 35,625.52).

Die Arbeit Quranic school von Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps wurde im Juni letzten Jahres in der Auktion Orientalist Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 8.925,00 (€ 10.368,31) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 49%. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit French a Desert Passage beobachtet, die im April 2017 für GBP 30.000,00 (€ 35.625,52) versteigert wurde.
