Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Costume design for a character in the film Aelita, 1924 32.7 x 25.4cm (12 7/8 x 10in). by Alexandra Exter was sold in the The Russian Sale auction at Bonhams in London in December 2021. The price achieved of GBP 1,912.50 (€ 2,281.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexandra Exter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Composition Puriste in June 2014 with an auction result of GBP 1,022,500.00 (€ 1,277,564.83).

Die Arbeit Costume design for a character in the film Aelita, 1924 32.7 x 25.4cm (12 7/8 x 10in). von Alexandra Exter wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion The Russian Sale bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.912,50 (€ 2.281,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexandra Exter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Composition Puriste im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.022.500,00 (€ 1.277.564,83).
