Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On the coast at low tide by Alexander Wellwood Rattray was sold in the At Home - British and Continental Pictures auction at Christies in London in May 2004. The price achieved of GBP 71.70 (€ 107.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25.00 – 200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Wellwood Rattray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In the shade; and Harvest time in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,128.11).
