Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Near Feriolo, Lago Maggiore by Alexander Wallace Rimington for GBP 152.75 (€ 249.71). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 250.00 – 350.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Wallace Rimington achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Taking the sacrament to a sick person, Trau, Dalmatia in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,904.75).
