Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait of Mary, the artist's daughter by Alexander Mann was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2004. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 25,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 26,290.00 (€ 37,838.54). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander Mann - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Gleaners, which sold at auction in October 2002 for GBP 71,700.00 (€ 113,416.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Mary, the artist's daughter von Alexander Mann kam im Oktober 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 25.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 26.290,00 (€ 37.838,54) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexander Mann mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Gleaners beobachtet, die im Oktober 2002 für GBP 71.700,00 (€ 113.416,76) versteigert wurde.
