Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mentone by Alexander Mann was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,888.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Mann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Gleaners in October 2002 with an auction result of GBP 71,700.00 (€ 113,416.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mentone von Alexander Mann kam im April 2009 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.888,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Mann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Gleaners im Oktober 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 71.700,00 (€ 113.416,76).
