Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ben Cruachan at ebb of day by Alexander Kellock Brown was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in May 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,903.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander Kellock Brown - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hayfield by a village, which sold at auction in October 2002 for GBP 3,585.00 (€ 5,670.84).
