Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Marsh Landscape by Alexander Helwig Wyant. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,758.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Helwig Wyant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hudson River View in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 84,000.00 (€ 62,439.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marsh Landscape von Alexander Helwig Wyant zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.758,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Helwig Wyant erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hudson River View im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 84.000,00 (€ 62.439,60).
