Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Alexander François Loemans could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Latin American Art Modern & Contemporary auction, the work Great Falls With Views Of The Andes (Chimborazo) changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,746.33) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander François Loemans - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Chimborazo, Queen Of The Andes, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 35,922.12).
