In November 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Chimborazo, Queen Of The Andes by Alexander François Loemans. The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,149.93) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander François Loemans - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Chimborazo, Queen Of The Andes, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 35,922.12).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chimborazo, Queen Of The Andes von Alexander François Loemans zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.149,93) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexander François Loemans mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Chimborazo, Queen Of The Andes beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für USD 50.000,00 (€ 35.922,12) versteigert wurde.
