In the IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES AND OBJECTS OF VERTU auction, the work William Vi 'The Constant' (1629-1663), Landgrave of Hesse-Cassel 1637-1663, In Gold-Embroidered Brown Doublet With Wide Lawn Collar, Shoulder-Length Brown Hair sold for GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,784.94) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander Cooper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Prince William V of Hessen-Kassel (1602-1637), which sold at auction in December 2020 for GBP 8,820.00 (€ 9,852.73).
