This artwork by Alexander Cooper achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2019. In the The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II auction, the work Portrait Of Young Gentleman, Traditionally Identified As Robert Dormer, 1St Earl Of Carnarvon (1610-1643), Circa 1630 sold for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,234.50) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alexander Cooper; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait of Prince William V of Hessen-Kassel (1602-1637) sold at auction in December 2020 with the realized price of GBP 8,820.00 (€ 9,852.73).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Alexander Cooper erzielte im Juli 2019 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of Young Gentleman, Traditionally Identified As Robert Dormer, 1St Earl Of Carnarvon (1610-1643), Circa 1630 für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.234,50) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Alexander Cooper; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Portrait of Prince William V of Hessen-Kassel (1602-1637) im Dezember 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 8.820,00 (€ 9.852,73).
