A top price for Alexander Cooper
When the work Portrait of Prince William V of Hessen-Kassel (1602-1637) by Alexander Cooper was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2020, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 2,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at GBP 8,820.00 (€ 9,852.73). This high result makes Portrait of Prince William V of Hessen-Kassel (1602-1637) the most expensive artwork by Alexander Cooper that we have observed at auctions so far.
