Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Wave Drawing With White Shape by Alex Hamilton for GBP 625.00 (€ 746.87). This price was achieved in the auction The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art in aid of the African Arts Trust, Sale 3 at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Alex Hamilton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Crossroads 6 in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,182.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2010 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Wave Drawing With White Shape von Alex Hamilton für GBP 625,00 (€ 746,87) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art in aid of the African Arts Trust, Sale 3 bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alex Hamilton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Crossroads 6 im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.182,49).
