Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Newspaper Drawing 7, The Guardian by Alex Hamilton was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 563.00 (€ 672.78). Admittedly, works by Alex Hamilton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Crossroads 6 in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,182.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Newspaper Drawing 7, The Guardian von Alex Hamilton im November 2010 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 563,00 (€ 672,78) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alex Hamilton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Crossroads 6 im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.182,49).
