In September 2006 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Russian Pictures, which included the work A musketeer by Alex de Andreis. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,310.76), 44% above the upper estimate. Other works by Alex de Andreis have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 5,377.50 (€ 7,727.76) in June 2003 for the work The Arrival of D'Artagnan.
