Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bellona With Romulus And Remus by Alessandro Turchi was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 62,500.00 (€ 57,902.54). Admittedly, works by Alessandro Turchi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Communion of the Magdalene in June last year with an auction result of USD 327,600.00 (€ 312,923.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bellona With Romulus And Remus von Alessandro Turchi im Januar 2017 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 62.500,00 (€ 57.902,54) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alessandro Turchi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Communion of the Magdalene im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 327.600,00 (€ 312.923,87).
