Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sommertag Am Silvaplanersee. Oberengadin. by Albert Steiner was auctioned at Sothebys in Zurich in June 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of CHF 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for CHF 7,500.00 (€ 7,053.91). Admittedly, works by Albert Steiner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Über Tälern Und Menschen Above Valleys And People in November 2007 with an auction result of CHF 73,000.00 (€ 44,029.62).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sommertag Am Silvaplanersee. Oberengadin. von Albert Steiner im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in Zürich versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von CHF 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für CHF 7.500,00 (€ 7.053,91) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Albert Steiner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Über Tälern Und Menschen Above Valleys And People im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 73.000,00 (€ 44.029,62).
