Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sketch for Flores in "Le Reveil de Flores" by Albert Rutherston was sold in the British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations auction at Christies in London in June 2002. The price achieved of GBP 1,292.50 (€ 1,999.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Albert Rutherston - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bather, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,297.64).

Die Arbeit Sketch for Flores in "Le Reveil de Flores" von Albert Rutherston wurde im Juni 2002 in der Auktion British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.292,50 (€ 1.999,20) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Albert Rutherston mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bather beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 3.600,00 (€ 5.297,64) versteigert wurde.
