In March 2005 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Evening Bather by Albert Rutherston. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,280.00 (€ 3,320.58), 52% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Albert Rutherston; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Bather sold at auction in May 2007 with the realized price of GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,297.64).

Im März 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Evening Bather von Albert Rutherston zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.280,00 (€ 3.320,58) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Albert Rutherston; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Bather im Mai 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 3.600,00 (€ 5.297,64).
