Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Grasse by Albert Rutherston for GBP 940.00 (€ 1,331.39). This price was achieved in the auction TWENTIETH CENTURY BRITISH ART at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Albert Rutherston - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bather, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,297.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Grasse von Albert Rutherston für GBP 940,00 (€ 1.331,39) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion TWENTIETH CENTURY BRITISH ART bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Albert Rutherston mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bather beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 3.600,00 (€ 5.297,64) versteigert wurde.
