Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Purple Gorge by Albert Namatjira. The price achieved of AUD 23,900.00 (€ 14,492.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Albert Namatjira - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mt Sonder, MacDonnell Ranges, which sold at auction in April this year for AUD 92,250.00 (€ 55,291.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Purple Gorge von Albert Namatjira zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 23.900,00 (€ 14.492,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Albert Namatjira mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mt Sonder, MacDonnell Ranges beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für AUD 92.250,00 (€ 55.291,51) versteigert wurde.
