Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Australian Allumbaura (Haasts Bluff) by Albert Namatjira was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Sydney in November 2007. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 45,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 45,600.00 (€ 27,469.28). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Albert Namatjira - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mt Sonder, MacDonnell Ranges, which sold at auction in April this year for AUD 92,250.00 (€ 55,291.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Australian Allumbaura (Haasts Bluff) von Albert Namatjira wurde im November 2007 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Sydney versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 45.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 45.600,00 (€ 27.469,28) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Albert Namatjira mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mt Sonder, MacDonnell Ranges beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für AUD 92.250,00 (€ 55.291,51) versteigert wurde.
