Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Flower Study by Albert John Sherman was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Sydney in August 2004. The price achieved of AUD 2,629.00 (€ 1,525.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Albert John Sherman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bowl of Flowers, which sold at auction in November 2001 for AUD 7,050.00 (€ 4,094.79).

Die Arbeit Flower Study von Albert John Sherman wurde im August 2004 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS bei Christies in Sydney versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 2.629,00 (€ 1.525,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Albert John Sherman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bowl of Flowers beobachtet, die im November 2001 für AUD 7.050,00 (€ 4.094,79) versteigert wurde.
