This artwork by Alan Lowndes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in December 2020. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work The Procession sold for GBP 15,250.00 (€ 17,035.61) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alan Lowndes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Putting To Sea in December 2015 with an auction result of GBP 64,900.00 (€ 88,131.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 91 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alan Lowndes erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit The Procession für GBP 15.250,00 (€ 17.035,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alan Lowndes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Putting To Sea im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 64.900,00 (€ 88.131,08).
