In November this year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Newlyn Under a Crescent Moon by Alan Furneaux. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,536.00 (€ 1,779.89), 54% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alan Furneaux - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Marrakesh Pool, which sold at auction in March this year for GBP 4,845.00 (€ 5,512.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 54 % übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Newlyn Under a Crescent Moon von Alan Furneaux zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.536,00 (€ 1.779,89) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Alan Furneaux mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Marrakesh Pool beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für GBP 4.845,00 (€ 5.512,12) versteigert wurde.
