Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Aintree Grand National No. 2 by Alan Brassington was sold in the Sporting & Wildlife Art, Including An Important Private Collection of works by Wilhelm Kuhnert and David Shepherd auction at Christies in London in December 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,497.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alan Brassington - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Revenue, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 3,187.00 (€ 3,696.69).
