This artwork by Alan Bee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in an online auction in May last year. In the Wired: Online Auction auction, the work Animamundi sold for GBP 8,820.00 (€ 10,375.89) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alan Bee; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Freewoman - 1998 sold at auction in October last year with the realized price of EUR 13,120.00.
