Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Thalassa Circled III by Al Held was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in New York in May last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 75,975.00 (€ 70,799.55) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Al Held have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Compass Rose in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 312,500.00 (€ 283,601.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Thalassa Circled III von Al Held wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 75.975,00 (€ 70.799,55) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Al Held auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Compass Rose im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 312.500,00 (€ 283.601,05).
