Sold at the upper estimate price
In October 2009 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Flowers Nestle Close To Each Other by Ai Yamaguchi. The auction ended at the price of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 17,485.60), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ai Yamaguchi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work ayame mo shiranu yama, which sold at auction in May 2010 for HKD 437,500.00 (€ 45,451.33).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2009 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flowers Nestle Close To Each Other von Ai Yamaguchi zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 17.485,60) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ai Yamaguchi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ayame mo shiranu yama beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für HKD 437.500,00 (€ 45.451,33) versteigert wurde.
