Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Frenchturkish Princesses, Two Female Busts by Adrien-Etienne Gaudez was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 110,500.00 (€ 82,137.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adrien-Etienne Gaudez - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bust of a Turkish Princess, which sold at auction in May 2001 for USD 149,000.00 (€ 176,227.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Frenchturkish Princesses, Two Female Busts von Adrien-Etienne Gaudez kam im November 2011 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 110.500,00 (€ 82.137,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Adrien-Etienne Gaudez mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bust of a Turkish Princess beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für USD 149.000,00 (€ 176.227,08) versteigert wurde.
