Artwork auctioned at four times the pre-set estimate
When the work Der jugendliche Fischer by Adrien-Etienne Gaudez was auctioned at VAN HAM in May 2013, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 600.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at EUR 2,580.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adrien-Etienne Gaudez achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bust of a Turkish Princess in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 149,000.00 (€ 176,227.08).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Der jugendliche Fischer von Adrien-Etienne Gaudez im Mai 2013 bei VAN HAM versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 600,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 2.580,00 mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adrien-Etienne Gaudez erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bust of a Turkish Princess im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 149.000,00 (€ 176.227,08).
