Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2004 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work Guiding the flock by Adrianus Johannes Groenewegen. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 2,151.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adrianus Johannes Groenewegen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Watering Cows By A River, which sold at auction in April 2004 for EUR 5,377.50.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2004 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Guiding the flock von Adrianus Johannes Groenewegen zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 2.151,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Adrianus Johannes Groenewegen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Watering Cows By A River beobachtet, die im April 2004 für EUR 5.377,50 versteigert wurde.
